If you're like us here at Jacobs, you're always looking for ways to deliver more value to your clients, whether it's through smarter design, faster delivery, or more resilient infrastructure. In flood risk management, where precision, speed, and transparency are critical, we've found that Flood Platform is transforming how we work and how our clients can interact and collaborate with the modelling data we create.

Why Flood Platform?

Flood Platform is more than just a visualisation tool. It’s a fully integrated digital ecosystem that streamlines flood modelling workflows, enhances collaboration, and provides real-time insights that empower better decision making. For engineering consultants, this means less time spent on manual processes and more time focused on solving complex challenges.

Greater Transparency and Collaboration

One of the most powerful aspects of Flood Platform is how it fosters open collaboration and transparency across project teams and stakeholders, both inside and outside your organisation.

At Jacobs, we’ve seen firsthand how this changes the dynamic with our clients. Every subscription to Flood Platform includes viewer licences that can be deployed to customers, regulators, or other stakeholders. This means they can interact with, validate, and review modelling outputs directly without needing specialist software or technical expertise.

Whether it's reviewing flood extents, interrogating time series data, or comparing scenarios, stakeholders can engage with the model in a meaningful way. This not only builds trust but also accelerates decision making and reduces the back and forth that often slows down projects.

Seamless Transfer of Final Outputs

Flood Platform also makes it incredibly easy to share and transfer final deliverables, including the hydraulic model itself.

If the receiving organisation has a Flood Platform licence, you can transfer the model directly into their environment. This allows them to continue viewing and interacting with the outputs, even if they don’t have flood modelling software or GIS experience. It’s a frictionless way to extend the value of the work beyond our own delivery.

For those without a Flood Platform licence, the platform supports encrypted file sharing, eliminating the need for external file transfer sites, hard drives, or complex IT approvals. It’s secure, fast, and ensures that sensitive data stays protected.

Flexible, Scalable, and Fast

Flood Platform is built to support projects of any scale, from local surface water studies, to national flood risk assessments. With two editions to choose from (Core and Advanced), users have the flexibility to select the version that best suits their technical needs and project scope. Whether you're focused on data management and collaboration or require advanced simulation and analysis capabilities, there's an option tailored for you.

Its flexible licensing model means you can customise the platform to your exact requirements. Need 1TB or 100TB of storage? You choose what’s needed and only pay for what you use. Prefer to run simulations locally while using Flood Platform primarily for model management, collaboration, and visualisation? That’s entirely possible. The platform adapts to your workflow, business needs, and budgets. Not the other way around.
