Industry-leading hydrology engine to enhance accessibility and collaboration

We are delighted to announce that Jacobs has entered into a relationship with WBNM to integrate the renowned Watershed Bounded Network Model (WBNM) with Flood Platform. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in streamlining hydrological modelling processes for users across Australia. This integration builds on existing strategic integrations in Jacobs' flood modelling products, and partnerships with TUFLOW, Wallingford HydroSolutions and Fathom.

WBNM is widely recognised as a leading application within the industry owing to its robust hydrology engine and proven track record. The software is trusted by academic institutions, government agencies, as well as private consulting firms across Australia.

Jacobs has been a long-standing user of WBNM and is enthusiastic about working alongside Ted Rigby of WBNM to deliver this integration. The first phase of the integration with Flood Platform will roll out within the coming weeks, offering enhanced capabilities to users.

Richard Crowder, Global Director of Flood Products at Jacobs, commented:

“The first stage of the integration with WBNM will launch in the coming weeks. The new Starter edition of Flood Platform will allow users to easily share WBNM (and other hydraulic modelling) data files between individuals and organisations, promoting greater collaboration and efficiency.”

Ted Rigby, Owner and Lead Developer of WBNM, commented:

“We are very pleased to be working with Jacobs on this exciting integration. As a global organisation with decades of expertise in developing and supporting hydrological and hydraulic modelling software, Jacobs brings cutting-edge technology and innovation to the table. Flood Platform offers an ideal environment for advancing WBNM hydrological methods, supporting ongoing development and support as the industry embraces cloud computing and artificial intelligence.”
