What’s New in Flood Platform - October 2026
The latest Flood Platform updates introduce new modelling capabilities, clearer results visualisation and smarter ways to manage simulation workloads. Together, these improvements help teams configure, run and review flood models more efficiently through a browser-based platform.
New features include full Flood Modeller 2D support, Flood Modeller 1D long section plots, enhanced carbon reporting, more reliable run management, greater TUFLOW support, and improved access to model inputs and results.
Here are the latest features and improvements now available in Flood Platform.

Full Flood Modeller 2D Support in Flood Platform
Flood Platform now provides full Flood Modeller 2D support, making it easier to run, manage and review 2D simulations within the platform, including those wishing to run Flood Modeller 1D-2D linked simulations.
Teams can manage more of the modelling workflow in one place, streamlining the process from setting up simulations through to reviewing results.
This gives users greater flexibility when working with 2D flood models while reducing the time and effort needed to manage simulations.
Improved Flood Modeller 1D Model Visualisation
New visualisation tools make it easier to understand the structure and results of Flood Modeller 1D models.
Users can now view Flood Modeller 1D long section plots directly within Flood Platform. These plots include proportional node positioning, clear axis labels and an improved y-axis baseline, providing a more accurate representation of the model network and associated water levels.
IEF and IED boundary data are also displayed for Flood Modeller 1D models, helping users identify and review model boundaries without having to examine the underlying files separately.
Support for sprung arch conduit structures has also been introduced, with appropriate icons helping users identify these structures within their models.
Smarter and More Reliable Simulation Management
Flood Platform now makes better use of available computing resources by building run queues around hardware capacity.
This is particularly valuable for teams managing large modelling workloads or running multiple models and scenarios at the same time.
Other run management and reliability improvements include:
Licence queueing when availability is limited
Validation against project and workspace run limits
Bulk cancellation of multiple simulation runs
Improved identification of invalid model configurations
A visible badge for simulations running in demo mode
Together, these improvements provide a more stable and efficient modelling experience while giving users clearer information about the status of their simulations.
Faster Model Uploads and Easier Access to Input Data
Users can now upload multiple models in a single action, reducing the time required to set up projects and manage larger model portfolios.
Flood Platform also provides improved access to model inputs. TUFLOW input files can now be retrieved and viewed through the web application, alongside enhancements to the way 1D input data is displayed.
Additional fixes improve file handling, including files stored within directories and files that share the same extension. These changes help reduce errors when processing more complex model structures.
Greater Flood Modeller and TUFLOW Compatibility
Flood Platform supports up to Flood Modeller 7.4.1, helping users run models created with the relevant Flood Modeller solver.
Additional TUFLOW solver options, including support for TUFLOW 2026.3.0, also provide greater flexibility when configuring simulations.
These updates make it easier for teams to choose the appropriate solver while maintaining consistent workflows across different projects and model types. This flexibility is particularly valuable when working with legacy models, allowing older projects to be run and reviewed with confidence.
Enhanced Carbon Reporting for Modelling Workloads
Flood Platform’s carbon tracking capabilities capture power consumption and simulation runtime data to calculate the carbon footprint associated with modelling activity.
Carbon reporting has been expanded to provide separate tracking for compute and storage usage. Users can now:
Monitor the carbon impact of modelling workloads
Track compute and storage emissions separately
View the status of carbon calculations
Export carbon data from the web application
Access more accurate projections for the current month
These insights can help organisations better understand, monitor and report on the environmental impact of their simulation activity.
Improved Maps and Results Visualisation
Several enhancements make it easier to explore, interpret and communicate flood modelling results within Flood Platform.
These include:
Chart zooming for closer analysis
Clearer chart axis labels
Cursor coordinates displayed on maps
Improved identification of 2D raster pins
Better handling of overlapping map features
Custom display ranges for WMS raster data
Improved Performance and Platform Stability
A range of behind-the-scenes improvements strengthens the performance, reliability and resilience of Flood Platform.
These include:
Optimisations for processing large models
Stronger CodeMeter and licence diagnostics
More reliable TUFLOW licence-failure detection
Support for NVIDIA A40 GPUs in on-premises environments
Further fixes improve on-premises deployments, licence management, model processing and results handling.
Although these changes may be less visible to users, they contribute to a more dependable flood modelling environment and a smoother experience when running and reviewing simulations.
