After more than fifteen years of internal use, we are excited to announce that Flood Platform will soon be available to all organisations externally.
Available on a subscription basis, Flood Platform is the first purpose-built tool designed to unify and streamline flood modelling. Providing a flexible, scalable, and secure environment where users can upload data, manage access permissions, perform analysis, and collaborate smoothly with both internal teams and external stakeholders. By acting as a central location for data, simulations, and collaboration, Flood Platform integrates seamlessly with trusted flood modelling tools such as Flood Modeller and TUFLOW.
Flood Platform has demonstrated its value in project delivery by playing a crucial role in major initiatives like the Environment Agency's Oxford-Cambridge Arc Flood Risk Investment Study. This project helped unlock over £100 billion in economic value. During the study, Flood Platform was utilised to run more than 900 models and undertake 45,000 simulations.
Originally developed to address the challenges of managing large volumes of model data files and simulations, it has evolved into a powerful tool that empowers teams to optimise workflows, collaborate seamlessly, and achieve remarkable efficiency in flood modelling. Throughout this journey, we have actively engaged with both internal stakeholders and potential clients to gather insights that have helped us refine the user interface.
Ahead of the Flood Platform launch, Jacobs Executive Vice President Amer Battikhi said: "Flood Platform is a prime illustration of how we're embedding cloud-based technology and automation into infrastructure planning and modelling - enabling more informed decisions, faster project delivery and improved resilience"

What can you look forward to with Flood Platform's Release?
Model Management: Flood Platform offers comprehensive model management capabilities, enabling users to securely maintain an overview and control of all their models and associated data. It also simplifies the secure transfer of models between organisations.
Collaboration: Our platform makes it easy for internal teams and stakeholders to collaborate, access modelling data, seek assistance, review results, and conduct quality assessments. This has traditionally been a challenge for modellers, regardless of the applications being used or the processes in place.
Simulation and Analysis: Flood Platform’s advanced simulation and analysis capabilities allow users to conduct detailed hydraulic analyses like never before, continuing our original mission.
Visualisation: Regardless of the modelling application you use, Flood Platform provides a unified way to view model data files and results. It enables users to create plots, detailed maps, and animations of flood scenarios. The robust visualisation tools help both modellers and non-modellers intuitively comprehend complex information and effectively communicate model data and flood risks.
